Can you tell us your name?

How many marathons have you run?
One
What charity are you running for and why?
I am running for Hospice IOM as they went above and beyond in the last few days of my mum’s life making sure she was well looked after. My Mum was fell ill in early June 2013 and a couple of weeks later diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (a human version of Mad cow disease). She spent many weeks in The Walton Centre in Liverpool & a Nobles ward in Douglas IOM. Her health quickly Deteriorated and when we learnt that there was no cure for the disease, she was moved to Hospice IOM. The outstanding care and support they gave to her, myself and the rest of the family, we were and still are forever grateful for. We can’t thank them enough.
How do you plan to recover after the marathon?
A nice cold cider along with a big burger meal whilst taking in the London atmosphere whilst wearing my Oofos.
